Thanks for joining me!
At the last few places I’ve worked I added a lot of useful information to the internal wiki related to embedded engineering. I’ve just started a new job, and find myself wishing I could look back at what I’d documented previously, and I am starting to add the same sort of information yet again. I’ve decided to maintain a website outside work to track the same information. Nothing proprietary, just neat stuff I learn as I go along, and can use in the future.
I find wikis are quick and easy to populate, but a website takes a bit more maintenance for linking and cross referencing. Maybe knowing it’s harder to keep tidy means I’ll make it tidier to begin with. Will I have anything unique here? Probably not. I’ll be trolling the web for information, and distilling it down to the most meaningful information (for my needs) here.
